It’s time for our 2nd Interview in the Silent Shore Interviews, and this time we have Manuel Rocca from Levitated Music. Manuel is a rising star from Venezuela, South America. His tracks and remixes have been highly supported by biggest djs such like Armin Van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Solarstone, The Thrillseekers, Markus Schulz, Sean Tyas and many others. Certainly, Manuel is a promising artist that is giving plenty to talk about.
Interview by: Adam Kehoe
Welcome Manuel.
01/ What is your definition of Trance?
Thank you for having me! Trance for me is emotion, passion and good vibes. It’s deep and beautiful melodies made from the heart. It’s the sentiment converted in music. Trance music is a completely journey that can take you to the place you wish, even if you’ve never been there. Really it has the power to make you feel happy when you’re sad, and that’s amazing.
02/ How did Levitated Music come together?
Well, Levitated Music comes from my idea of “Levitate” the music. I made some remixes with the tag “Levitated remix” and then it turned into a whole concept. Finally, I thought it would be great to start my own label with that concept.
03/ Levitated has released some amazing uplifting tunes in the past, including Flowing Passion, Beyond Horizons, Sands of Time and my personal favourite, Mike Sanders’ Vanilla. What can we expect from Levitated over the next few months?
In levitated we always are looking for fresh uplifting tunes and sometimes melodic progressive trance. We have been fortunate to discover amazing talents worldwide. In the next months, you can expect great tunes from new producers and some remixes from renowned artists. Also, right now I’m preparing the 5th edition of my compilation White Clouds. This time will be very special, so stay tuned.
04/ How would you describe Levitated Music to the new generation of music fans?
As i said you, Levitated Music is all about a concept. The concept of “levitate” the music far beyond the known. You can be sure that in Levitated you will find interesting, innovative and real trance music with high melodic content.
05/ Levitated’s 50th release will be a big one! Will it be a Manuel Rocca tune or a collaboration of artists?
We are still planning what we will do to celebrate that milestone, but you can be sure that it will be something great and the fans will love it. It’s been almost two years of amazing support from biggest djs but also from the Trancefamily, so we want give them something special.
06/ Was Levitated Music always part of the Silent Shore family, or was it separate beforehand?
Yes, from the moment I seriously thought about creating the label, I talked with Tibor (ReOrder) about it. We are friends since 2010 and he really likes my work ,and he loved the idea. Since early 2014 we are working together on SSR. I’m currently working as A&R Manager of Silent Shore, Label Manager of Levitated and Contract Manager of Abora Recordings, so i have so much work, but I love my job. From some time ago we are part of Abora Music Label Group, so now we are a big team of producers, DJs and collaborators. We are a family. Btw, Silent Shore White sub-label will be back in a few weeks, so stay tuned.
07/ Have you got any events lined up as Manuel Rocca, and if so, where are you performing?
At the moment, there are some events to be confirmed in Latin America. I also hope to play soon in Europe, Asia, Africa or Australia. That would be amazing.
08/ Have you heard of Ravers Army?
I think so. If I’m not mistaken it is a trance community.
09/ Are there any artists you would like to collaborate with, and if so, who and why?
Well, I recently made my first ever collaboration with ReOrder called “Worlds United”, to celebrate the 250th release of Silent Shore Records and i must say that it was a very interesting experience. Now I have planned to make collaborations with some producer friends, but if you ask me by someone in particular, I would say Aly & Fila, because they are the perfect definition of what a trance artist should be.
10/ Is there anything you would like to say to your fans and the TranceFamily around the world?
I just wanted to thank to the trancefamily and fans for trust in my music and my label. Right now I’m working on new tunes and mix compilations and I’m sure you will like them. So expect much more from Manuel Rocca in the coming months. Cheers!
Thank you for your time Manuel.
