SSR Interview with Estigma: “Trance is a way of life”
It’s time for our 3rd Interview in the Silent Shore Interviews, and this time we have Estigma, one of the best Producers/DJs from Argentina.
Interview by: Adam Kehoe
Hello Estigma. How are you today?
Hi mate, all fine, thanks.
1/ What is your definition of Trance?
I think it’s not a music style for me, it’s a way of life. I’m thinking in trance all the day.
2/ What is your favourite release of yours ever?
Well, i can’t choose only one, i think on cinnamon sunday or renovatio. And of course my remix of sean tyas’s lift.
3/ Your 2015 re-lift of ‘John O’Callaghan & Bryan Kearney – Exactly’ is one fantastic tune. How did this opportunity come about?
Actually was talking with kerry from Discover, i told him i want to rework it and he gave me the remix pack. It was amazing for me cuz is one of my all time favourites.
4/ Which Trance artists inspired you to start producing, and do any influence your music now?
When i start to listen electronic music i listen house almost all the time, like Deep Dish. But in trance music i think my all time heroes are the old Above and Beyond, and of course Tiesto, Armin, Ferry Corsten and many others.
5/ What software do you use to produce Trance?
I use FL Studio, and a lot of vst, like Spire and Sylenth.
6/ What advice would you give to new, upcoming producers who want to start making Trance?
They have to try to learn everything. Now is very easy to get production software, but i think the big difference is the sound quality, you can make the best track ever, but if it sounds poor nobody will listen it.
7/ Have you heard of Ravers Army?
Yeah, i’m part of the group 😉
8/ Where can your fans see you perform next?
I have a few upcoming gigs here in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata, and a few in talks in Latin America.
9/ Are there any artists you would like to collaborate with, and if so, who and why?
Well, i’m not a big fan of collabs. I think i’ve made two or three in all this time, but i’m in talks with Manuel Rocca now for a collab, and if i have to choose, i think i’ll say aly & fila.
10/ Anything you would like to say to your fans?
Just thanks for all these years of support, i think i can’t say in words how much appreciate the kind words about my job. It is the best part of being dj/producer.
